Biography

1932 Born in Tokyo
1953-57 Attended Tokyo University of Fine Arts (Geidai), Majored in oil painting
Reacted against the institution’s formalistic approach and did not complete final requirements for graduation
1960 Founding member of “Neo-Dada Organizers”
1969 Received JDR 3 Fund Grant to visit the United States, New York City and has lived there ever since
2007 48th Mainichi Art Prize
